Gunsen is Available on Board Game Arena

Gunsen: The Battle for Toshi Ranbo is now available to play for free on Board Game Arena (BGA) for a limited time! Starting today, the fast-paced area-control board game for 2 to 6 players enters a public beta period on BGA, marking the first chance for players around the world to try the game ahead of its Gen Con debut and August release. Those who wish to jump straight into the fray can learn to play the game in less than fifteen minutes by watching this short YouTube video from Good Time Society.

Gunsen: The Battle for Toshi Ranbo is a strategic area-control game that plays in under an hour, delivering tense decisions and constant interaction without long downtime. During the game, players will build and refine their clan tableau to unlock powerful synergies, outmaneuver rivals, and seize control at the perfect moment. Online Organized Play Begins 

Today also marks the opening moves of the Siege of Toshi Ranbo, a global organized play event in-store and online lasting from mid-July through late October. Players will determine which among seven Great Clans—the Crab, Crane, Dragon, Lion, Phoenix, Scorpion, and Unicorn—will prove victorious as they battle for the legendary fortress Toshi Ranbo. 

All games played during the free period on Board Game Arena will have their outcomes recorded, so we’ll know how many victories each clan scored in total. The aggregated results will inform the starting military positions of the clans, which will be reflected in the resulting chronicle. The chronicle will be shared here on LegendoftheFiveRings.com in early 2027 to immortalize the Siege of Toshi Ranbo. Additionally, if you participate during the siege, you can expect a small L5R-themed digital gift, so look out for an update from Board Game Arena on that.
